Course Description

This course focuses on developing beginner-level OET speaking skills through authentic healthcare cases. Each module emphasizes one healthcare scenario to help students gradually develop clinical communication competence, empathy, grammar awareness, patient-centered interaction, and speaking confidence. The course integrates AI chatbot-assisted speaking practice, reflection, and flipped learning activities to support active and independent speaking development.

Weekly Course Plan

AI-Integrated Pedagogical Model

The course adopts a chatbot-augmented flipped learning approach in which students complete AI-guided speaking preparation before class, interact with healthcare chatbots for structured speaking practice, receive immediate formative feedback, and participate in classroom role-plays and reflective learning activities. Each module focuses on one authentic healthcare case to support gradual development of linguistic competence, clinical communication skills, empathy, confidence, and independent learning aligned with OET Speaking requirements.
